I was reading my friend Darkblues’ blog today where i came across some pretty scary stuff: the things Google knows about you.

To sum it up: almost everything. As an example: if you use a GMail account, Google knows who you send emails to, who sends emails to you,t he contents of those emails, the contents of all emails received from any mailing lists of which you are a member, even if they are private mailing lists.

But even if you don’t use a Gmail account: the contents of any emails you send to anyone who does use a GMail account, the contents of any emails you send to any mailing lists of which any one member uses a GMail account.

Today my membership to GAWDS was approved. I must say that i’m feeling a bit proud to belong to this association. Not that is has anything to do with being a member of some “elite” club but because it proves to me that my site can be looked upon by people with particular impairments. They should not be excluded from the web and i believe you have to do whatever you can to make sure they can visit your projects without problems.

Ever needed to centre a block level or inline level element with CSS but forgot how to?

Have no fear, at the moment i’m working on a tutorial with the “how to”.

The U.S. District Court in Boston recently ruled that anyone can read your e-mail with impunity. All it takes is that the e-mails are in a server’s memory and disk. That way they are stored and not in transit… and therefore not subject to wiretapping laws.

Finally folks: after a lot of blood, sweat and curses here it is. The new Dzinelabs page.

I want to express my gratitude to my good friend Gordon who, as always, has been a great inspiring source throughout the process. I also want to thank my “personal” CSS guru: trx. Without his vast knowledge of tricks and hacks i would still be cursing away :-)

Finally, all of you guys who have encouraged me here: tnx a lot guys!!

So what changed? In short: everything lol. I decided to dump the fixed positioning of my navigation menu, fixed header and some more. The trick to make it work in IE had as a result that the layout was far too fragile and quikly crumbled down when altering some things.

I divided my navigation in a main menu and a smaller menu in a right column.

The traditional validation buttons are now plain text links that take you to my accessibility statement. For the coloring i went for some pastel tints.
