“The simplest and surest method of ensuring your documents are indexed correctly is to ensure your pages have good, accessible, and well-structured content. The algorithms used by search engines tend to be very guarded. What is known about them are usually the results of search engine strategists that analyse their behaviour in order to determine how they rank pages. Techniques to trick search engines into ranking your content higher are unlikely to work, and could ultimately result in a ban. The accessible solution is not only better for your visitors, but also ensures you get plenty of them.”
This is a quote from juicystudio about Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and accessibility.
It explains why accessible websites are good for search engine ranking.

Well, i’m not talking about a real fight but a cyberspace contest: a contest between design gurus and bloggers. Andrei Herasimchuk over at Design by Fire has gathered examples of web sites of a few well known web, design, and technology Gurus, along with a few web sites of also well known Bloggers. He compared the examples and guess who came up as absolute winner: the Bloggers. They kicked the Gurus’ butt big time. But one caveat: he’s the only judge. Now, would that make him bias? Hard to tell, but at least he had the nerve to compare his stuff to that what Williams did on Yellowlane. And killed himself :-)

Maybe you already noticed that IE6 has a problem with pseudo-elements (:first-letter, :first-line) under certain conditions.
If you have a pseudo-element but there’s no space between the end of the pseudo-element and the opening > bracket of the declaration block, the selector will not be applied.
Solution is simple: add a space.
You can read up on it here.

I feel like my batteries are all charged up again. It just showed me how important it is to be around the ones you love.
